Nebraska State Patrol announces funeral procession route for fallen trooper

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska State Patrol on Tuesday detailed the plans for Trooper Kyle McAcy’s funeral and procession.
The funeral procession will start 9 a.m. Thursday at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home near 60th and Center streets in Omaha.

It will take McAcy’s body to Liberty First Credit Union Arena near 72nd and Q streets in Ralston.
The procession will start on Center Street, the go down 60th Street, L Street and 72nd Street before taking P Street to the arena.
The public is encouraged to line the route to pay their respects, but you should not park on the route.
Those roads will be closed to regular traffic about 8:30 a.m.

McAcy’s funeral starts at 11 a.m. at the arena, with doors opening at 9 a.m.
Members of the public should park in arena’s north and east lots and enter in the northeast or southeast doors.
McAcy, 31, was run over by a snowplow last week while responding to a crash on Interstate 80.
Fellow troopers and others went to help him, but he died on scene.
