Cloudy and breezy Monday, WINDY and messy Tuesday ahead
BLIZZARD WARNINGS AND WINTER STORM WATCHES are in effect for most of the state starting early Tuesday morning. BLIZZARD conditions expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches out west. Winds gusting as high as 65+ mph. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. Very strong winds could cause tree damage. The WINTER STORM WATCH, Blizzard conditions possible, with total snow accumulations of one to two inches. Winds could gust as high as 65+ mph.
StormCast shows some possible thunderstorms tonight. By Tuesday morning, snow will start out in western Nebraska and move east throughout the day. In the afternoon, rain will develop in southeast Nebraska and turn over to snow by 5pm or so. Tuesday afternoon around 3pm, we can expect wind gusts up to 70+ mph and continuing through Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
Snow potential looks to be better out west where the BLIZZARD WARNING is in effect. Depending on the rain Tuesday, that could play a factor on snow accumulations and potential. Some spots out west could see 2-4+” and most of us seeing a trace- 2″ at most.
A HIGH WIND WATCH is in effect Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. North winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65+ mph possible. Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
StormCast shows the wind gusts picking up early Tuesday morning in the panhandle(40-55 mph). By 2pm, the wind gusts shift east gusting up to 55+ mph near 7pm.

Tuesday afternoon around 3pm, we can expect wind gusts up to 60+ mph and continuing through Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Wednesday, cool and WINDY, wind gusts 40-50 mph throughout the day. Thursday through Friday, some light rain/snow mix possible. Next week, we look to warm up and dry out.
