LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was convicted Tuesday of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.

Jauson Schriner, 22, pleaded no contest to third-degree sexual assault of a child.

That charge was reduced from first-degree sexual assault of a child under a plea deal.

In December 2023, Schriner posed as a 16-year-old to have sex with the girl, according to court documents.

He claimed that his mom had kicked him out and he needed a place to stay, an arrest affidavit says.

So he moved into the girl’s Boone County home, and authorities said he started pressuring her to have sex.

Schriner ended up sexually assaulting her 12 to 15 times over the course of a week and a half, according to the affidavit.

The girl soon became suspicious and looked through his phone, where she found messages to other girls in which Schriner claimed to be several different ages.

And there was a text from Schriner’s mom wishing him a happy 21st birthday.

Schriner is set to be sentenced in Boone County District Court on April 29.
