Dozens saddle up for barrel racing to kick off Lincoln rodeo

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A rodeo got underway in Lincoln on Friday with some barrel racing.

Twisted Turn N Burn is hosting its spring challenge at the Sandhills Global Event Center.

In Friday night’s barrel racing event, 65 young equestrians competed for the cash jackpot in their respective divisions.

Those who won in their divisions include Taya Sandbulte on YoYo Fire Monster, Carol Hartweg on DHR Whatta Miss Fit, Casey Jones on DHR Whatta Red Jet, Jerry Brinkman on JoJo Corona and Jerry Brinkman on PLK Perkie Streak.

The exhibitions and competitions will continue throughout the weekend.
