LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The No. 1-seeded Lincoln Christian girls basketball team completed its undefeated season Saturday, beating Milford 49-42 in the Class C1 state championship at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Crusaders are the first team to finish undefeated in Class C1 in nearly two decades. The last program to accomplish that feat was Crofton in 2006.

Lincoln Christian has been dominant over the past two seasons, boasting a 53-2 record, winning 39-straight games and hoisting two-straight championship trophies.

Both teams shot 29% from the floor, but the Crusaders outshot Eagles from deep 33% to 18%.

Kena Ailes was the workhorse for the Crusaders, posting a double-double with 17 points on 5-for-13 shooting and 16 rebounds.

Samantha Dearking and Maci Pittenger each tallied 10 points, while Mattea Kassebaum and Pittenger had two steals.

Milford was led by Aylandra Roth with 18 points, while Shayla Rautenberg had a double-double of her own with 14 points and 17 boards.

With only two seniors on its squad, Lincoln Christian will look to reboot next season and continue its dominance.
