Over 11,000 without power in six southeast Nebraska counties, officials say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Norris Public Power District is working to restore power to thousands of customers across six counties on Thursday.
The district — which covers Saline, Seward, Lancaster, Thayer, Gage and Jefferson counties — has been handling outages caused by Wednesday’s blizzard.
As of 11 a.m., over 11,000 customers are without power, with a majority of those outages in Lancaster, Seward and Saline counties.
In a statement, the power district estimated there are about 250 broken poles and several downed power lines.
Crews plan to work throughout the day and into the night to restore power.
Officials said crews from other power districts are also going to help with outage restoration. But some people might be without power for “multiple days.”
