Six now face federal charges in Omaha sex trafficking case

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Six defendants in an Omaha sex trafficking case are now facing federal charges, too, authorities said Monday.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nebraska said the indictment was unsealed on Friday.
A grand jury charged all six people with two counts of sex trafficking minors by force, fraud and/or coercion.
Eduardo Perdomo, Michel Martinez-Gonzalez and Alfredo Zambrano-Hurtado also face two counts of conspiracy to commit human trafficking.

Court documents say that in December, Perdomo and Zambrano-Hurtado transported two teenage girls from Denver to Omaha, where they were sold for sex.
The girls were briefly returned to Denver before Perdomo brought them back to Omaha on Jan. 3, police said.
He rented a room at the AmericInn near 13th Street and Interstate 80, where arrest affidavits say they were sold to “numerous” men.

Martinez-Gonzalez helped set up the sex purchases and got a cut of the money, police said.
The three other co-defendants — Kavankumar Patel, Vishal Goswami and Sumit Chaudhari — worked at the hotel.
Police said they were among the men who sexually assaulted the girls.
