No. 20 Nebraska softball holds Purdue scoreless, wins sixth-straight game

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The No. 20-ranked Nebraska softball team won its sixth-straight game Sunday, shutting out Purdue 6-0 at Bowlin Stadium.

The Huskers used a 5-run sixth inning to pull away and take the series from the Boilermakers.

As a team, Nebraska tallied 10 hits and committed zero errors. Th Boilermakers only had two hits and left five runners stranded on base.

Olivia DiNardo and Ava Kuszak led the Huskers from the plate, each racking up two hits. Samantha Bland and DiNardo led the team in RBIs with two apiece.

Hannah Camenzind (5-2) got the win in the circle for Nebraska, pitching five innings and fanning three batters.

Jordyn Bahl came in for her second save of the season and pitched two hitless innings with five strikeouts.

Khloe Banks and Sage Scarmando had the two hits for the Boilermakers.

Julia Gossett (5-5) took the loss for Purdue, pitching five innings while giving up seven hits and 5 runs. She also struck out seven batters.

Game three of the series is scheduled for Monday. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at Bowlin Stadium.
