Severe weather potential for Tuesday into Wednesday
There is a level 2 “Slight Risk” for severe storms across the eastern half of Nebraska Tuesday night.
Below is what our StormCast weather model has for timing, location, and duration.
If and when these storms get going, an isolated spin up tornado will be possible.
Large hail will be possible, as well, with the area near the black hash marks having the potential for 2″+ hail.
Damaging wind in excess of 60 mph will also be a possibility.
Before the storms Tuesday night, we’ll be mild but very windy. Temperatures will try for the lower 60s with some light rain possible on and off (before the severe storm risk).
We’ll see 60s and 70s for highs to the south, 40s and 50s to the north.
The wind gusts by early afternoon will be in the 35 to 45 mph range, especially in eastern Nebraska.
If you miss out on the rain chances Tuesday, there are more chances the 2nd half of the week.
