WATCH: Dust storms and hailstorms hit Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Thursday’s storms in Nebraska were quite the sight.
While the Lincoln area didn’t have the tornadoes reported elsewhere, the large hail and dust storms were still something to behold.
Here is a roundup of some of the best videos that have come into the Channel 8 newsroom.
Dust storm
A camera at KLKN’s tower near Utica captured a dust storm as it ripped across the prairie.
The fierce winds shook the camera as they blew through, and some debris could be seen flying through the air.
The storm lasted for several minutes.
Hail
Many photos and videos came in from northern Lancaster County, where there were multiple reports of large hail.
One user of the NOW Local News App sent in a video showing ping pong ball-size hail in Davey.
On X, @Torin15401 shared some video of large hail piling up in Raymond.
The hailstones made big splashes as they landed in a pond.
Meanwhile, near Ceresco, NOW App user Dennis Jenkins only got pea-size hail at his house, but he said it lasted for 15 minutes.
Farther north, Channel 8’s Darsha Dodge sent in a NOW video as hail pummeled her vehicle.
