Two people have been bit by rabid bat in Fremont

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A bat that bit two people in Fremont has tested positive for rabies, police said Monday.

In a press release, the Fremont Police Department urged people to get their pets vaccinated, saying it plays a critical role “in keeping everyone safe.”

Police also recommended keeping pets indoors or watching them while their outside to limit their exposure to wild animals.

Rabies can be a fatal disease.
