LPD: Man arrested for involvement in multiple south Lincoln thefts

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was arrested Saturday after police say he was involved in multiple south Lincoln thefts.

On three separate occasions, officers were sent to an apartment complex near 14th Street and Old Cheney Road on the report that several packages were stolen from the mailroom.

According to the Lincoln Police Department, officers were sent to that location on Jan. 18, March 21 and March 29.

On May 24, officers were called to a different apartment complex near 40th Street and Yankee Hill Road on the report of a stolen vehicle.

The vehicle was found later that morning in a neighborhood near Northwest 48th and Holdrege streets.

According to LPD, officers were able to use the evidence collected to identify a potential suspect related to each of the thefts.

Just after 9:15 a.m. Saturday, officers arrested 52-year-old David Anthony on suspicion of three counts of burglary and one count of theft by unlawful taking of $5,000 or more.

LPD said these thefts are still under investigation.
