LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Nebraska man is out of $600 after he willingly gave his bank information to someone he thought was country singer Luke Bryan.

The 59-year-old man from Bennet received a text message on Tuesday, asking for the victim’s savings account information.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, the man offered the account information “because he knew Luke Bryan was a country singer and is a good guy.”

The victim thought he was going to get $300, but when he checked his account, he found to have only $2.42 left.

The sheriff’s office said the victim’s total loss was $600.

“We have not heard of this one, but if anyone is texting Luke Bryan, it’s a scam,” said Chief Deputy Ben Houchin.
