Man convicted of two murders at rural Nebraska bowling alley
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was found guilty Friday of killing two people at a northeast Nebraska bowling alley in 2024.
Alias Reed, 26, pleaded no contest to two counts of first-degree murder.
In exchange, two weapon charges were dropped.

On Feb. 20, 2024, Reed went into Curt’s Lanes and Dining in Bloomfield, a town of about 1,000 people near the South Dakota border, armed with a shotgun.
Authorities said he shot 77-year-old Curtis Strom and 49-year-old William Reffett in the head, then stole the money from the cash register.
Both Strom and Reffett died at the scene.

Reed and his girlfriend, Kaylynn Sweazy, then hid the gun on the side of a country road, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
Sweazy, 29, was sentenced earlier this week for attempted evidence tampering and accessory to a felony.
Reed’s sentencing has been scheduled for July 19. He faces life in prison.
