Crash takes out traffic lights at Lincoln intersection, making it a three-way stop
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A crash in south Lincoln knocked traffic lights to the ground Tuesday just before the evening rush hour.
A three-vehicle crash happened about 4:30 p.m. at 16th Street and Old Cheney Road, according to the Lincoln Police Department.
Police said no one was injured, but a traffic signal pole was hit, leaving a wire lying in the street.
Videos sent to the NOW Local News App show the broken traffic lights and other debris scattered on the ground.
The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department said the intersection will be a three-way stop for the time being.
Temporary stop signs have been installed.
It’s not yet known what caused the crash.
LTU said it is working to determine when the traffic lights will be repaired.
