Lincoln woman sentenced for sexually assaulting son about 25 times

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln woman was sentenced to prison Friday for sexually assaulting her teenage son multiple times.
The 37-year-old got 25 to 35 years in prison for first-degree sexual assault.
That charge was reduced from first-degree sexual assault of a child under a plea deal, and prosecutors also dismissed charges of incest and child abuse.
With credit for more than a year already served behind bars, the woman will be eligible for parole in less than 12 years.

On May 31, 2024, police were conducting a welfare check at her home when her 14-year-old son told them that he had been repeatedly abused in the last two months.
He was removed from the home and later estimated that his mother sexually assaulted him 25 times or more, according to court documents.
The woman will be required to register as a sex offender.
