Cloudy and Cool Sunday – Heat Returns to Start the Week
Showers and thunderstorms will develop across eastern Nebraska early Sunday morning, with some showers and storms producing heavy rainfall and localized flooding. The remainder of the day will stay cloudy and cool, with highs in the 70s across the east and 80s in the west. Temperatures will rebound into the 80s and 90s by Monday and remain hot through next Saturday.
StormCast shows storms developing out west tonight and pushing east overnight into Sunday morning. Some of these showers and thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall, potentially leading to localized flooding. A few rain showers could linger into early Sunday afternoon. Sunday evening, isolated storms will develop out west with a marginal risk for severe weather.
Rainfall totals through tonight into early Sunday afternoon are expected to range from 0.10″ to 0.25″, with locally higher amounts possible if showers and thunderstorms stall over certain areas.
Sunday, a MARGINAL risk for severe weather is in place for west central Nebraska. Main threats will be quarter size hail and winds up to 60+ mph.
A beautiful night ahead for most of us! Temperatures will dip into the upper 50s and low 60s, with showers and thunderstorms moving in early Sunday morning.
Sunday will be cooler, with high temperatures only reaching the 70s under cloudy skies. Warmer conditions return as we head into the new week.
