‘Good Samaritans’ find missing boy at Holmes Lake in Lincoln, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An 11-year-old boy was found safe at Holmes Lake on Friday thanks to a couple “good Samaritans,” police said.
According to the Lincoln Police Department, Tony and Ailondra Nguyen saw a post on social media about the missing boy and found him at Holmes Lake around 10 a.m.
LPD said they saw a boy matching the photos and description, wearing all green, with a bicycle.
They called police immediately and stayed with him until officers arrived.
LPD said the boy was found about an hour after the post went up, and it received more than 64,000 views in that time period.
“This is just one example of how critical a role YOU play when we need help,” LPD said in a Facebook post. “LPD is grateful to all our followers for sharing posts when we ask for public assistance so the images of a missing person can be seen by the right person.”
