Lots of heat for the weekend

There is a Heat Advisory in place for much of eastern Nebraska on Saturday. Temperatures will be very close to 100 degrees and the heat index will be several degrees higher than that.

Temperatures Saturday afternoon will push into the middle and upper 90s, which is well above average (87).

Add in a dew point that will be well into the 70s and you get a heat index that will be anywhere from 100 to 110 for much of eastern Nebraska.

It’ll still be hot on Sunday and Monday with a chance for storms each day.
