Farmer applied tourniquet to teen’s leg after motorcycle crash near Firth, sheriff says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A farmer who witnessed a crash near Firth on Tuesday evening stepped in to help an injured motorcyclist.
Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said a Dodge pickup truck and a motorcycle collided head-on near 96th Street and Pella Road.
Investigators noted that a combine working in a nearby field could’ve caused some visibility issues on the road.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 16-year-old boy from Firth, suffered a serious leg injury.
Wagner said a farmer who saw the crash applied a tourniquet to the boy’s leg before he was taken to a local hospital.
“Firth Fire and Rescue and bystanders did a great job at providing first aid,” Wagner said.
The crash is under investigation.
