One more hot day, then fall shows up
Saturday will be another hot day with lots of wind, but it should be the last of the very hot days.
If you’re headed to the game, I suggest sunscreen and staying hydrated. It’s going to be hot with quite a bit of wind.
Wind gusts by mid afternoon on Saturday will be out of the south and range from the middle 30s to the lower 40s.
As the day progresses, a cold front will slide out of the panhandle, giving much of western Nebraska a chance for some showers and storms.
One or two of those storms cloud be strong to severe, so there is a level 1 “Marginal Risk” in place as a heads up.
A transition day is headed our way on Sunday, so it’ll still be mild, but storms look possible. Then, much cooler air and a good chance for rain and storms moves in for Monday.
The cooler air remains in place through much of next week, but we do warm back into the 70s by Wednesday.
