LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska volleyball outside hitter Harper Murray was honored as the Big Ten Player of the Week on Monday.

Murray shares this week’s honor with Penn State outside hitter Kennedy Martin.

This marks Murray’s first career player of the week selection, and the first Husker to win the award since Merritt Beason in 2023.

Murray put together two dominant all-around performances in Nebraska’s sweeps over Washington and No. 12 Purdue over the weekend.

The two-time All-American was all over the court against the Boilermakers on Sunday, racking up 16 kills on 25 error-free swings for a career-high .640 hitting percentage.

Murray also posted five digs, four assists, two aces and two blocks.

On Friday against Washington, Murray led the Huskers with 12 kills and just one error, boasting a .407 hitting percentage.

She also tallied seven digs, three blocks, one ace and one assist.

In total, Murray averaged 4.67 kills per set on a .519 hitting percentage.

She racked up 28 kills with just one attacking error on 52 swings. This past week, Murray was the only player in the country with 50 or more swings to commit one or fewer errors.

Murray also added 2.00 digs per set and received 11 serves without a reception error.

The junior’s three aces on the week moved her to No. 10 in school history in career aces with 90.

Murray is also within 12 kills of 1,000 in her career.

The Huskers will take a road trip to Michigan to take on Michigan State on Friday and Michigan on Sunday.

First serve against the Spartans is set for Friday at 6 p.m. on Big Ten Plus. Nebraska will take on Michigan on Sunday at 1 p.m. on Big Ten Plus.
