Two killed in head-on crash in Valparaiso

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two people were killed late Saturday night in a head-on crash in Valparaiso, the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office says.
The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. on Highway 79 near West South Street.
The sheriff’s office said a Pontiac G6, driven by 19-year-old Austin Walla of Valparaiso, was heading north on Highway 79 when it left the road.
Walla overcorrected, went off the road again and then hit a Hyundai Santa Fe after getting back onto Highway 79.
The sheriff’s office said Walla was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Hyundai, 48-year-old Trina Christensen of Columbus, was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
