Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal crash near Doniphan

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash near Doniphan on Monday.

Just after 6:30 a.m., deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a semitrailer at the intersection of Highway 281 and West Binfield Road.

According to investigators, a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee — driven by 31-year-old Sabian Salais of Hastings — was traveling north on Highway 281 when it struck the rear of a 2020 Peterbilt.

Salais was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
