LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A woman was hospitalized Monday night following a rollover crash in south Lincoln.

Just after 7 p.m., several first responders were called to the intersection of 27th Street and Coronado Drive, just south of Old Cheney Road.

According to the Lincoln Police Department, a white sedan was driving north on 27th when it left the road, flipped once, hit a tree, and came to rest on its top in another tree.

A witness said the car looked like it was going the speed limit when the crash happened, LPD said.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue spent an hour extricating the woman from the car. The woman was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, according to LPD.

A Channel 8 reporter on scene said the woman was taken to the hospital.

LPD said the woman’s injuries are non-life-threatening.

In a video sent to our NOW Local News App, you can see the car on its top in the tree.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Northbound 27th Street was shut down in the area, but LPD said it would open one lane once some of the fire trucks cleared out.

This is a developing story. Check back with Channel 8 for updates.
