Stanton County recovers another set of human remains

Stanton County Press Release:

For the second time in just over 30 days, the Stanton County Sheriff’s office has recovered human skeletal remains along the Elkhorn River. 

The remains were found Saturday afternoon several miles southeast of Stanton along the river.

They appear to have been washed out of the Elkhorn River during last month’s historic flooding in the area.

The first set of remains found last month southwest of Stanton are currently being analyzed by the Forensic and Anthropology division of a large Southern university.

The human remains found on Saturday will also be taken for analysis in hopes of identifying them. The Sheriff’s office currently has two open local missing person cases from many years past and has also been contacted by numerous law enforcement agencies with missing person cases regarding the discovery last month.

The remains found on Saturday are not those of Scott Goodman who was washed away in Norfolk last month during the flooding.
