LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A pair of former Huskers will be playing in the NFL Pro Bowl next year.

Linebacker Luke Gifford, a member of the San Francisco 49ers, and center Cam Jurgens, a Philadelphia Eagle, were selected for the NFC’s Pro Bowl roster.

This is Jurgens’ second Pro Bowl selection and the first for Gifford.

Jurgens, a Beatrice native, has been the starting center for the Eagles since Jason Kelce retired in 2023.

He spent four seasons with the Huskers and started every game at center in 2021.  During that season, Jurgens also earned a third-team All-Big Ten honor.

Gifford has been a key part of the 49ers’ special teams unit this season.

The Lincoln native played at Nebraska from 2014 to 2018, earning the Pat Clare Award and an honorable-mention All-Big Ten selection in his senior season.

The Pro Bowl Games features a skills competition and a 7-on-7 flag football game.  It’s scheduled for Feb. 3 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
