LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Three people were injured Tuesday night in a shooting at an apartment complex in Grand Island, police say.

At around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunshots near the Pletcher Terrance Apartments in north central Grand Island.

When officers arrived, they didn’t find any victims.  But they did take a 29-year-old man, who has not been identified, into custody.

Around the same time, officers were sent to CHI St. Francis’ emergency room, where three people arrived with gunshot wounds.

Those three people are expected to recover from their injuries, police said.

During an investigation, officers learned that the 29-year-old man fired “multiple rounds” at a vehicle occupied by the three victims, according to police.

The suspect’s vehicle and a firearm were recovered at the scene.  Officers also searched an apartment rented by the suspect, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information is asked to call police at 308-385-5400 or Crime Stoppers at 308-381-8822.
