The best chance for .05″+ of ice will be in NE Nebraska near O’Neil, Columbus and along I-80. Temperatures will be below freezing all day making for quick freezing/ slick spots.
The ice potential lessens the further SE you go through tonight. I-80 will most likely have travel impacts this evening.
Minor snow accumulations are expected with this system. Most of eastern Nebraska seeing a trace to just under an inch of snow. Any snow that accumulates will be wet/heavy snow.
This afternoon, temperatures will stay near or below freezing across eastern Nebraska. Warmer air further west, which will move east through this weekend.
Today will be COLD and wintry. Much of eastern Nebraska seeing light ice accumulations and minor snow totals. This weekend, warmer air moves in from the west and takes over on Sunday! Temperatures in the 50s and 60s through Wednesday. Get out and enjoy the start of next week, before colder air and precipitation chances return Thursday. Some snow could be possible out west Thursday, while a light mix or mostly rain in eastern Nebraska possible.
