Sunny Close to the Weekend, Dangerous Wind Chills Return Monday Morning

Sunday afternoon temperatures have returned to the double digits and will remain there for a few more hours. We have not seen afternoon temperatures above 10 degrees since this past Wednesday (It was 48 degrees for a high too).

Dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills return late Sunday and through Monday morning. A Cold Weather Advisory is in place for the entire state until 9 a.m. with the exception of portions of south-central and central Nebraska, which will remain under the advisory until 12 p.m. Wind chills as low as -25 degrees will be possible.

Overnight lows will be in the single-digits below zero in southeast Nebraska.

Partly cloudy skies this evening in Lincoln as temperatures will be nothing short of frigid. Overnight wind chills will be between -15 and -25 degrees.

Several layers will be needed for the Monday morning commute, with air temperatures expected to be below zero.

A couple of cold days ahead, but the latest runs of StormCast keep us dry for the next couple of days.

High temperatures will be in the 20s and 30s as warmer air from a southwesterly wind moves in.
