LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Nebraska man was arrested on Wednesday after authorities said he robbed a bank in York County.

Jason McCain — a 46-year-old from Grand Island — faces three felony counts and two misdemeanors, including third-degree assault, false imprisonment, robbery, theft by unlawful taking and unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle.

Around 8 a.m. on April 1, McCain entered the Cornerstone Bank in Bradshaw, approached employees and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

During the encounter, authorities said one of the employees suffered a non-life-threatening head injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

According to the sheriff’s office, McCain left the bank in a stolen vehicle, which deputies found minutes after arriving.

Following a multi-agency investigation involving the sheriff’s office, the York Police Department, the Grand Island Police Department, the TRIDENT Task Force, the Nebraska State Patrol, United States Probation and the FBI, investigators identified and located McCain.

McCain was arrested in Grand Island following the execution of a multi-agency search warrant.

“The safety of our community and the security of our local businesses remain a top priority,” Capt. Joshua Gillespie said in a press release. “We are grateful for the seamless cooperation between our additional local, state, and federal partners, as well as the tips provided by the public that led to this swift resolution.

Authorities said they are continuing to investigate the link between this robbery and a burglary at the same branch in February.

No personal or banking information was jeopardized during the incident, according to authorities.
