Husker Bass Anglers prepare to host ‘Casting to Make a Difference’ this Saturday at Holmes Lake

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Husker Bass Anglers will be back in the Lincoln community this Saturday to host ‘Casting to Make a Difference’ at Holmes Lake from Noon-3:00 p.m.

Casting to Make a Difference

Rods, reels and bait will be provided for all the kids, and for those who really get the itch to keep fishing, they will have the option to take some gear home.

The event is designed for kids in K-12 to learn about and experience what fishing is all about.

‘Casting to Make a Difference’ was started by UNL senior Logan Greeno, who wants to help kids get involved in fishing at a young age, regardless of their upbringing, and allow the Anglers team to mentor them in the sport.

The team oversees the event and helps kids learn the basics of the sport.

The Husker Bass Anglers were Nebraska’s “sport club of the year” in 2025.
