LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was arrested on Wednesday morning after police say he assaulted two officers.

Around 7:30 a.m., officers with the Lincoln Police Department were sent to the area of 52nd Street and Cornhusker Highway in response to a report of a man passed out on a bench.

When officers arrived, they found the man with a syringe, which later tested positive for meth, and he refused to identify himself.

As officers tried to arrest him for drug paraphernalia, he resisted and started fighting.

LPD said two officers received minor injuries.

Travis Stierlen, 34, was ultimately arrested and taken to jail on multiple charges, including assaulting a peace officer.
