Saturday Evening Storm Update, Sunshine Returns Sunday
Severe Weather Potential:
Latest Update: 6:11 p.m. CDT, Saturday, June 14.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 11 p.m. CDT on Saturday, June 13, for Pawnee and Richardson Counties in southeast Nebraska. Make sure you know your severe weather plan for this evening and have multiple ways to be alerted to severe storms in your area.

Above is the latest run of StormCast, showing one round of storms moving along the Kansas-Nebraska line and another round of storms moving in from the northwest. The storms to our south will likely be the strongest, but scattered severe storms remain possible in that second wave of storms.
Potential for severe weather increases the further southeast you go across the state. A couple of counties are under an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 out of 5) of severe weather, meaning numerous severe storms are possible. Lincoln and Beatrice are under a Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5), indicated in yellow, meaning scattered severe storms are possible.
A brief spin-up tornado, hail ranging between golf ball and tennis ball size, and wind gusts from 65-80 miles per hour will all be possible in the strongest storms this evening. Not everyone will see storms that strong, but the environment is capable of producing storms strong enough to create the above criteria.
Forecast:
Temperatures across the state this evening will range from the mid-40s to the upper 50s.
Following our early chance of storms in Lincoln, expect gradual clearing through the overnight hours. Temperatures will fall to the middle 50s with a gusty northerly wind.
Highs will be cooler on Sunday with temperatures in the 60s and 70s statewide. The strong wind out of the north-northwest will stick with us into the afternoon.
Behind the passing cold front, Sunday looks to give us plenty of sunshine in the Capital City. Temperatures should be pleasant, only reaching the mid-70s.
We take our time returning to the upper 80s and lower 90s, with a sunny start to the work week. Highs will peak on Wednesday with another chance for showers and thunderstorms. Our chances for precipitation will depend on Gulf moisture returning to the central plains by the middle of the week. The forecast looks more like summer for the back half of the week.
