LPD says reported robbery at south Lincoln gas station is believed to be false

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Further investigation into a reported robbery at a gas station in south Lincoln has led authorities to believe the report was false.

The Lincoln Police Department responded to an assault and robbery at Phillips 66 on Pine Lake Road on Friday around 11 p.m.

A 43-year-old employee told officers she was taking out the trash after work when an unknown man wearing a black shirt and black pants punched her, took her purse and ran away.

According to LPD, she had bruising on her face and pain in her leg from falling to the ground.

The total loss of the purse and items inside is estimated at $930.

LPD said the investigation is ongoing as investigators continue to verify new information.
