Severe Storms Near Lake McConaughy Leads to Destruction

KEITH COUNTY, Neb. (KLKN) – Tipped campers and falling ceilings follow the intense storm at Lake McConaughy near Ogallala. Two campers were blown over with one in the lake.

Officials say eight people were evaluated by medical professionals but were released on the scene. They also urged caution along the shoreline between areas 5 and 12.

Inside a home at Lake McConaughy, a ceiling collapsed allowing hail and rain to enter. In videos courtesy of Ashley Henshaw, hail and insulation is seen piling up on the floor, chairs and couches.

Many responders arrived on the scene when the campers tipped including Keith County Emergency Medical Services, Keystone Lemoyne Volunteer Fire Department and Ogallala Volunteer Fire Department.
