Tow to Go Offered Throughout Nebraska for the Holiday Weekend

Tow To Go Independence Day

OMAHA, Neb. (KLKN) – The Auto Club Group (AAA) is activating its Tow to Go program from July 3 to July 6 across Nebraska other areas. Over 61.4 million Americans are expected to travel by driving for the holiday weekend and AAA’s program offers free services.

“With millions of Americans on the road, even one impaired driver is too many,” said Brian Ortner, spokesman for AAA. “Tow to Go provides a last-resort option that can prevent a tragedy before it happens and ultimately save lives.”

The Tow to Go program offers a free ride for any impaired drivers and their vehicle, available to both AAA members and non-members.

According to AAA, they received over 687,000 calls for roadside assistance during the July 4 holiday period. They said officials urge drivers to plan ahead before celebrating.

The Tow to Go program will be available in multiple states and areas offering confidential rides for drivers within a 10-mile radius.

Ortner said it should be used as a last resort.

“Tow to Go is there if you need it, but it’s not a substitute for proper planning,” Ortner said. “The safest choice is always to arrange a ride before you go out.”
