Rural Nebraska road welcomes small plane when it experiences engine failure

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A small plane holding two passengers landed on a rural road in Richardson County on Sunday, July 5.

After Richardson County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) responded to the scene along with Falls City Rural Fire and Falls City EMS, it was found the passengers suffered no injuries. No medical treatment or transport was needed.

The aircraft was moved to private property in order to reopen the road. The aircraft remains on the private property while the investigation and aircraft recovery is in progress.

RCSO notified the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration who will be managing the investigation into what caused the emergency landing and engine failure.

Normal traffic resumed after the incident was cleared and moved.
