Four staff members assaulted by inmates at the Nebraska State Penitentiary

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) said four staff members were assaulted during an altercation. The incident took place at the Nebraska State penitentiary (NSP).

The staffers were escorting an inmate to a holding area. On the walk, that individual and another began assaulting the staffers that were escorting them. They both punched the staff members several times.

One staffer received a serious cut to the face that required stitches.

NDCS said an investigation has started and findings will be given to the county attorney to determine prosecution.
