Storm chance for Thursday

We’ve had quite a few waves of storms recently and another one will try to move through our area Thursday evening. This one might have some severe storms in it, too.

Spc02

There is a level 1 “Marginal Risk” (green) and a level 2 “Slight Risk” (yellow) for severe storms Thursday late afternoon into the evening and overnight.

Spc Explainer

Above is an explanation of what the “Marginal” and “Slight” Risks mean.

Spc02wind

Parts of Nebraska may see damaging wind Thursday evening. Not everybody will see very strong winds, but the storms that can get severe will see very gusty winds.

WIND POTENTIAL:
Brown shaded area: Up to 60 mph
Yellow shaded area: Up to 70 mph

Spc02hail

Hail should remain minimal, but the storms that can get strong to severe may have hail in them.

HAIL POTENTIAL:
Brown shaded area: Up to 1″ hail

Above is what our StormCast weather model is saying for timing, duration, and location of the storm chances.

Exc Rainfall

The storms may drop quite a bit of rain in a short amount of time, so some areas may see some flash flooding. The areas in yellow have a little higher chance for it.

State Forecast Highs Tomorrow

Highs on Thursday will be warm again, and muggy, but most of eastern Nebraska will be a little below average.

10 Day Forecast

The upper 80s and low 90s come back by the end of the weekend.
