Heat index values could exceed 107°+ during the peak afternoon across SE Nebraska & areas near the NE/KS line.
Hail up to golf balls or greater will be associated with a few storms this evening!
6-11pm: A few storms form out west from Mullen->North Platte, carrying LARGE HAIL up to golf balls or larger & winds up to 65+ mph. *Storms will have a ESE motion*
Winds up to 60-70+ mph will be possible with these isolated storms Tuesday night.
Overnight *1-5am*: Areas in NE Nebraska including Omaha will need to be watched again due to a few strong WINDS capable of 45-55 mph winds and heavy downpours.
Severe Weather Wednesday Night -Thursday Morning : August 12-13, 2026
Wednesday morning will bring rain/storms across eastern Nebraska. The main severe weather threat develops out west Wednesday evening/night! All hazards will be possible including, winds up to 65-70+ mph, large hail, brief tornado threat & flash flooding. Storms move ENE overnight into early Thursday morning.
Wednesday night brings strong to severe storms SW-E along with beneficial rainfall which could lead to widespread flooding. More details to come…
Rainfall potential through Friday morning is looking nice! Areas that need the rain could receive 0.50″-1.25″+. More widespread rain comes Friday through Saturday!
