Several Storm Chances to Start the Week

While we see a sunny close to the weekend in central and eastern Nebraska, chances for strong to severe storms return on Monday. A Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5) of severe weather will be in place for central and northeast Nebraska, with scattered severe storms possible on Monday evening. Western to southeastern Nebraska will be under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) of severe weather on Monday.

An isolated tornado or two, large hail and damaging winds will be the main concerns in the strongest storms moving through the area on Monday evening. Localized flooding cannot be ruled out under the strongest storms either.

Multiple rounds of strong-to-severe storms are possible again throughout the day on Tuesday. A Slight Risk of severe weather will be in place for central and eastern Nebraska. A brief spin-up tornado, large hail and damaging winds will be possible in the strongest storms.

A cooler evening ahead compared to the last couple of nights, with overnight lows across the state in the upper 50s to middle 60s.

Cloud cover will build heading into the start of the work week in Lincoln. Temperatures for the start of the day on Monday fall to the lower 60s.

A mix of clouds and sun across the state before a chance for storms on Monday evening. Temperatures range from the lower to upper 80s across the state.

We see a few passing clouds in the morning for the Capital City before a sunny afternoon. Additional clouds may arrive in the evening with ongoing storms to our north.

Seasonal temperatures for Monday and Tuesday, though cooler weather takes over by Wednesday. A passing cold front leaves temperatures below average through next weekend. Additional storm chances cannot be ruled out heading into next weekend either.
