LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — On Aug. 14, a water main break occurred on Old Cheney Road from 27th to The Knolls streets.

Today, Erika Hill, Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Communications and Public Affairs Manager told Channel 8 that the roads should be opened by Monday, Aug. 31.

Hill said the workers are pouring concrete today on Old Cheney Road, which is the last step in fixing the water main break. After today, workers will not be seen as the concrete needs to cure. After several days, the concrete should be hardened enough for the lanes to reopen.

As of now, both westbound lanes are closed and one eastbound lane is closed. The plan, that is extremely rain and weather dependent, is for all lanes to be opened by Monday.
