Small storm chances, heat headed our way

Storms are possible west tonight, then into far northern Nebraska Friday, overall much of the state will be dry. We heat up quite a bit, too.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in place through 9:00pm Thursday, August 27th.

Storm will be moving from north to south and southeast through the watch area above. We may see additional watches further south later tonight.

Storms will be pushing through parts of western Nebraska around 8:00pm.

The storms then push into SW Nebraska after sunset, eventually moving into Kansas.

If you have plans to watch the lunar (partial) eclipse tonight, a few clouds are possible after sunset. Viewing should be ok!

Highs will be in the middle 80s for much of the eastern half of the state on Friday, 90s for the western half of Nebraska.

Storms are possible once again on Friday, but mostly in northern Nebraska into South Dakota.

We really heat up on Saturday and this heat sticks around for much of next week.
