Two men sentenced to a collective 26 years after 120 pounds of meth were found in vehicle

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Today, United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods announced the sentencing of Ever Cano Ruacho, 36, and Jimmie Collazo, Jr.,35, both from Minnesota.

Both were sentenced for conspiracy to posses with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

On Oct. 16, 2025, an officer with Lincoln Police Department performed a traffic stop on a pickup driven by Ruacho and occupied by Collazo. After a search of the vehicle, officers found 120 pounds of pure methamphetamine.

Ruacho was sentenced to over 15 years and Collazo was sentenced to over 10 years in prison.

“Anyone who tries to traffic this amount of narcotics through Nebraska and on Interstate 80 in particular is going to have a very hard time getting past the Lincoln and Lancaster County Task Force! They are always on the job, keeping us all safer,” Woods said. “The U.S. Attorney’s Office is grateful to them for their tireless efforts.”
