Nebraska City to hold service to honor retired police K-9

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska City Police Department (NCPD) is holding a service to honor the life of Mack, a retired police K-9.
The service is at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the Nebraska City Police Department building. NCPD will give Mack a final procession down Central Avenue.
Mack worked for Nebraska City for nearly five years. He was deployed over 90 times in 2022. Mack specialized in tracking and catching and retired in 2023.
NCPD said Mack was more than a police K-9, stating he was ‘a partner, protector and beloved member of the NCPD family.’
