Jamal Rule named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Jamal Rule, Nebraska freshman running back, has been named Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week.

On Sept. 5, the Nebraska Cornhuskers began their season with a 49-21 win against the Ohio Bobcats.

Jamal Rule debuted with 169 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns.

According to the Big Ten, Rule had 122 rushing yards which is the first time in 22 years that a true freshman Husker has reached the 100 mark. Rule also became the sixth Big Ten freshman since 1995 to have two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown in a game.
