Burn permit fees $5 to $10 increase approved by Lancaster County Board

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners have voted to increase the cost of burn permits on the request from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

DHHS requested the burn permit prices be increased by $5 to $10.

The board voted yes, granting a 3% raise. DHHS says this will help them fully fund their work and avoid spending taxpayers’ money.

Commissioners emphasized that nothing else is changing regarding burn permits.
