Lincoln mayor choose entire team for Award of Excellence

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird has announced the recipients of the Award of Excellence.

Instead of giving the award to just one person, Gaylor Baird gave it to an entire time.

She decided to give it to the team involved in Bridges to Careers, a program aimed to give participants full-time positions for work experience.

“Since launching Bridges to Careers, this team has enabled 36 community members to gain valuable work experience on our Parks and Recreation team where they have earned a competitive wage and made contributions to our community’s landscape, literally, that has benefited all of us,” Gaylor Baird said.
