Police investigating shooting at Omaha Burke High School

OMAHA, Neb. (KLKN) — The Omaha Police Department is investigating a shooting at Omaha Burke High School.

OPD said it happened near the baseball fields. Police said it was an isolated incident between two people.

One person suffered non-life threatening injuries while another person is detained, according to Omaha police. A gun was recovered at the scene.

Secure status has been lifted after about an hour.

Police say there is no active threat to the school.

OPD says there will be a police presence at the school throughout the day. Witnesses are asked to find an officer and let them know what they saw.
